Important notice
Please note we do not own any housing, we only assist clients find housing when they do not have computer access or the skills to look online for themselves. We look at resources such as Kijiji, Padmapper, Facebook Marketplace, and have the same access to housing as the public does. Unfortunately we have no control over the high cost of rental accommodations in the city and the wait for subsidized housing is several years long. We also do not provide financial support , via rent subsidies or rent arrears.
Scheduled Closures
• Our offices will be closed on Monday, December 23, 2024, for the holiday season. We will reopen on January 6, 2025. During this closure, for emergencies, please contact CLI at 1-888-332-3234 or the City of Ottawa at 3-1-1.

How to Access our Services:
To ensure the safety of its employees and clients, Action Housing continues to adopt social contact reduction practices and partial reopening protocols. Face-to-face services will be offered by appointment only. Please note that our staff members are not currently working in person at satellite locations, but are continuing to accept referrals from these service locations.
New clients: If you are a new client and are trying to access our services, please call 613-562-8219 and leave a detailed message; we will return your call within 24 business hours. Please ensure to clearly leave your full name and a phone number where you can be reached, as well as a general description of your issue. Please be advised that call backs may come from a private number.
Existing clients: If you are an existing client, and need to contact your caseworker, please call 613-562-8219 and leave a detailed message; please ensure to clearly leave your full name and a phone number where you can be reached, as well as a general description of your issue, and remember to mention your caseworker by name. Your message will be relayed and your caseworker will contact you shortly. Please be advised that call backs may come from a private number. If your caseworker needs to meet with you regarding your file, they will contact you to make an appointment. Services will be given in person by appointment only, or given by telephone or email if appropriate.
Housing search: If you need housing search tools, email info@action-logement.ca to receive our available lists. Tools are also available through our website; consult the “Housing Resources” section at www.action-logement.ca. For health and safety reasons, our drop-in housing search centre will remain closed for the time being. If you have nowhere to sleep tonight, please contact the City of Ottawa by calling 3-1-1.

Since 1989, Action Housing has been offering bilingual services pertaining to housing loss and homelessness prevention in Ottawa, in partnership with Community Health and Resources Centres, and many other organizations serving the community.
